''Izatha gibbsi'' is a moth of the Oecophoridae family. It is endemic to New Zealand, where it is known from the western North Island.〔(Fauna of New Zealand - Izatha (Insecta: Lepidoptera: Gelechioidea: Oecophoridae) )〕 The wingspan is 12.5–13.5 mm for males and 13.5–20 mm for females. Adults have been recorded in February and March. ==Etymology== This species is named after George W. Gibbs, in honour of his major contribution to New Zealand entomology over many years, and especially his work on the biogeography and systematics of primitive microlepidoptera.
